WHY IIMA is IIMA.?

We talk about levels, standards, and the height of a more acceptable thing. That all become small in management education when we talk about IIMA.

Before joining ePGP at IIMA, I had 2 MBA degrees, one from IILM Gurgaon and another from Punjab Technical University. But when I sat in the first class of EPGP, I found the difference like the ground to the moon, that's what IIMA...!

There is no comparison; there are no levels that can meet IIMA in India. We spent a week on the campus module, and each moment of each day was so exciting and energetic. The atmosphere, the air on the campus is altogether different. When you are on campus, you feel motivated, enthusiastic. You feel that you are somewhere in the seventh heaven. In short, you can't feel better anywhere than on campus. I, being a traveller, photographer, couldn't even think of going out of campus. It's not like I didn't want to go, It's like It never came to my mind that there is a world outside this campus.

The Study - The level of study is, of course, to the level of the moon. One- the cohort is selected from the best of the best professionals. Two- All of them are highly educated and aspire to do really great in their lives. And the most dangerous thing there is, IIMA professors. You could be a master from IITs, NITs, or even masters from IIM B, C, K, L, or any other institute or university or maybe topper of any of these. When you are in the IIMA class, you will find that there are hell lot of things to learn.

As I have seen, the expectation from you in the class is different from what generally happens in other B-Schools or engineering colleges, or management institutions in India. You are not taught the concept of what is given in the books; you should read the book for the concepts, and you should know. Here we learn to use all those concepts in case solving.

We don't compare ourselves with any IIM B, C, L, K, or any other B School in India. We think of the best creation, innovation, value proposition. The attitude here at IIMA is, what we do other B-schools follow. The research papers published by our professors are taught in various top-notch B-schools worldwide. The practices we follow here are world-class, and these are the everyday things in IIMA.

Aristotle once said...

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

I think IIMA has taken this quite seriously. They have been doing excellent, innovative, and most recommended things regularly and have made this act their habit.

MY JOURNEY

I belong to a village in western UP, where there was no formal school when I started my schooling. I started my education from a school running in a house, and I studied there until 7th. For further education, I joined a school in a small town a few kilometres away from my village in class 8th moved to Bareilly city in class 10th. I had no idea why I was studying and passed 10th, 12th & B.Sc. without any vision to life. English was just a subject to pass, and I never thought this would be a communication medium. There was no vision/mission in life; I was studying for the sake of getting literate.  After getting a B.Sc degree, there was nothing to do. So I thought to move to Delhi to get a job so that I could run my hand to mouth life, but I didn't get any work, as every good job needs a skilled person or at least a good communicator. Finally, I decided to teach as a private tutor. And this was even more challenging, As CBSE/ISCE board had a lot of English, and parents wanted...
